Production features
The winery is an integral part of the old farmhouse (called Casa Piave) where the animals were housed and on the cold winter evenings also men, women and children, a place for getting together and for storytelling. The wines being aged in the bottle are kept out the back in the former horse stables adjoining the new and modern section for the first processing of the wines. Our striving for reliability and continuity, not only in relation to the past but also to research, with ongoing development, has led us to reviewing the dormant potential of our land and its historic vine varieties and to reinstate them with complete respect for the best oenological traditions; in other words, late or even November harvests, secondary fermentation with local classic methods: all this identifies Casa Plave.
